Grab your laptop and come spend 33 hours building something cool. (You do NOT need to stay the entire time. Come, leave, sleep, work of your own volition.)

The goal: build something cool/profitable/impressive/innovative, exchange ideas and knowledge, and make connections.

The Brief

  1. Meet up Friday night (7pm) to brainstorm ideas, meet people, and create a team. Then go home.
  2. Then, join us Saturday morning for coffee and breakfast before beginning 33 hours of intense hacking.

The event will last from 9am on Saturday the 28th until 6pm on Sunday. You can bring your tent, sleeping bag, gas masks and protest signs. We're not leaving until our demands are met (demands for amazing prizes from our esteemed panel of wonderful judges)! See below for details.

Why?

Hackathons are a great way to get a kick-start to a project, meet people, learn and have fun in a sort of productive way. It allows you to really focus on creating an MVP. Nothing extra, but easy to see if people get excited about what you've built. It's also a great way to get to know the Montreal startup community and meet founders. Also, prizes!

Prizes!

This time there will be prizes. Some categories will be a surprise, but the following are guarenteed:

1. Best Location Based Service (LBS) Application. (Special prize sponsored by YellowAPI)

2. Most likely to go viral.

3. Best free service.

4. Best scratching of one's own itch.

FAQ?

Q. Do I need a team before I come?

 A. No! The magic of hackathons is that you join the team with what you think is the coolest idea.

 Q. What if I have an idea for a project?

 A. Then come pitch and people will join your cool idea project.

 Q. Is there a difference between the ticket types?

A. Nope. It's just so we know what types of people are coming. In laymons terms, the ticket types translate to: Developers=coders. Designers=artists. Business=$people.
